Guzman y Gomez has a new landlord at one of its suburban locations near O’Hare International Airport where the Mexican restaurant signed a 15-year ground lease this summer.
Chicago-based GTZ Properties sold the newly built 2,700-square-foot property at 2741 Mannheim Road in Des Plaines to a local investor for $3.5 million in a sale that closed last week.
“[GTZ Properties] typically sells once a development is completed,” said Brewster Hague with Greenstone Partners, who represented the seller in the transaction along with colleague Danny Spitz. “The buyer was attracted to this property as it is a hands-off investment property for them.”
Guzman y Gomez moved into the new space in July, marking its sixth U.S. location. Globally, it has expanded to more than 250 sites across Australia, Singapore, Japan and the U.S.
